For the past year, I have been attending a specialized leather course in Salzburg, where I focus on the repair, restoration, and crafting of leather goods. This hands-on training allows me to explore traditional techniques while applying them to modern designs, giving me valuable insight into the care and longevity of high-quality leather products. From restoring luxury accessories to learning essential leather craft skills, the course has made me understand of this material and strengthened my appreciation for artisanal work.
Christina Roth
The course takes place in the workshop of Christina Roth, a master craftswoman whose journey into leather began in the centre of Salzburg’s Altstadt. Her studio is a space where tradition meets creativity: every cut and stitch is carried out with precision, passion, and respect for the craft. The workshop is dedicated to creating and restoring leather pieces that are both functional and aesthetically refined. Learning in such an environment has been both motivating and deeply formative.
